Frank Marchiano – Camp Director
Sparta High School Head Football Coach
Coach Marchiano is in his second year of being the Head Coach at Sparta High School. Prior to becoming head coach, Coach Marchiano served as the Defensive Coordinator from 2005-2009. He has been coaching football at Sparta High School since 1999 serving as both a varsity assistant and freshman football coach. Before arriving at Sparta, he coached both football and baseball at Jefferson from 1996-1999. Coach Marchiano also played high school football at Jefferson where he was an All SCIL, All County and All Area player. After Jefferson, he played football College of New Jersey where he was a four year starter and was selected as an All New Jersey Athletic Conference player his Senior year. Coach Marchiano teaches Health and Physical Education at SHS and coaches Spring Track and Field.
Tim Librizzi – Camp Counselor
Sparta High School Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Librizzi is entering his 19th year as a high school football coach, and his 7th season at Sparta High School. A guidance counselor at Sparta High School, Coach Librizzi is a graduate of Bloomsburg University where he played football for four years. A graduate of Jefferson Township High School, he was a member of the State Championship football team in 1986 and 1987 earning All Area Honors as a wide receiver. Coach Librizzi was a Varsity Assistant Coach at JTHS for five years and another four years at High Point Regional High School.
Ken Windt – Camp Counselor
Sparta High School Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Windt is beginning his 4rd season at Sparta High School. He is a retired science and math supervisor and chemistry and physics teacher. This is Coach Windt’s 36th season of coaching high school football. He has been an assistant coach for a total of 28 years at Kinnelon HS, Kittatinny Regional HS, Hopatcong HS and Pope John HS. Coach Windt was a head coach for 7 years at Kittatinny Regional HS.
Sam Slobodzian – Camp Counselor
Sparta High School Freshman Football Coach
This year marks coach Slobodzian’s 20th year at Sparta High School. Coach Slobodzian attended Edinboro University and Montclair State University where he played football. Prior to teaching at Sparta High School, Coach Slobodzian coached football and track for three years at Fairlawn High School. He has his teaching certification in Health and Physical Education with a masters in the the art of teaching. This year will be Coach Slobodzian’s 14th year as the Varsithy baseball coach. His teams have had much success, winning a Group III Sectional title in 2000, and SCIL League titles in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was selected Mugs Media Coach of the Year in 1998, 2000, 2003, 2008 and New Jersey Herald Coach of the year in 2000, 2002 and 2008. Since 1998 he has been on the Northeast coaching staff for the annual Senior All Star N.J.S.C.A. game.
Brad Szatkiewicz – Camp Counselor
Sparta High School Freshman Football Coach
A graduate of High Point Regional High School, Coach Szatkiewicz was a member of the 2001 SCIL Championship football team. He played baseball at Ramapo College where he graduated with a business degree. He recently graduated from William Paterson University, where he earned his degree in Physical Education. Coach Szatkiewicz is in his 3rd year of teaching and coaching at Sparta High School and coaches JV Baseball.
Shanna Behrje, MA, ATC, LAT – Camp Trainer
Sparta High School Athletic Trainer
Shanna Behrje has been a certified athletic trainer for over ten years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University and a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University, both in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. While completing her bachelor’s degree, Shanna worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in the Boston area. Shanna’s athletic training experience has included supporting high school and college programs while also assisting athletes in the clinical setting. In addition to working as Sparta High School’s Head Athletic Trainer, Shanna teaches health and physical education.
Maureen Longo – Camp Supervisor’s Assistant

Maureen Longo has worked in the Athletic Department for six years and in the Sparta School District for twelve. A graduate of Kittatinny Regional High School, Maureen attended the Hill Institute and Sussex County Community College for Computer Applications. Along with the daily routing in the Athletic Office she coordinates the volunteers for home football games and does a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes. Thanks Maureen!
